Our Mission…

We aim to preserve the honeybee population by building sustainable hives, habitat conservation, and providing public education

OUR LOCATION…

Our sustainable structures (BeeShip) will maintain life throughout all four seasons and provide permanent homes for our beloved bees at Siebert’s Ranch in Lyman, Wyoming.  Our retreat high elevation of 6,706 feet (2,044 meters) is beneficial to our bees because we have no big farms using agrochemicals which kill and weaken honeybees!  Herds of Antelope roam the area around our Bees and Free Range Cattle feed on acres of alfalfa that need our pollinators. The retreat is also surrounded by acres of wildflowers, and freshwater ponds, creating a perfect paradise for our honeybees.

What We do...

The Bee culture needs to be top priority in our everyday lives, these tiny little super heroes are vital to the entire world; without them we will cease to exist.  Our goal is a natural balance with our friends through sustainable beekeeping techniques.

Our sustainable structures (BeeShip) will maintain life throughout all 4 seasons, providing a permanent home for our beloved bugs.  This retreat will flourish with meadows of wildflowers and fresh water ponds creating a paradise for the honeybees; our goal is protecting the honeybees from pesticides and the global disappearance of the Bee epidemic.

We are working with other local beekeepers, biodiversity is important to creating super bees that are resistant to mites and the effects of pests.  Providing Education is vital to the survival of the honeybees and tours of the retreat and programs for children will soon be available.

Why we do it…

Save The Bees is a nonprofit spin-off of Wyoming Gold Honey, Randy’s bee business.  Wyoming Gold Honey has been alive since the 1970s. Wyoming winters can be brutal, so hives are trucked to California farmers to help pollinate fruits, nuts, and vegetables.  Save The Bees was created to minimize the effects of Colony Collapse Disorder. We hope that better education about Colony Collapse Disorder, and efforts to prevent it, will help keep bees in Wyoming during the cold winter months.  Randy is a seasoned beekeeper- nearly three decades of experience tells him that avoiding the transport to California, as well as the pesticides and herbicides used there, will result in healthier bees and honey. Our heavy duty beehives will provide better insulation from harsh winters in the Rockies, keeping our bees right at home in Wyoming.

If the bee disappeared off the face of the earth, man would only have four years left to live.
